Need a podcast producer?
Soundliness is the company name under which I operate as a full-service freelance podcast producer.
As an Essex-based Podcaster, I’m looking to work particularly local with SME’s and companies in Essex who would find a bespoke, high quality podcast useful for brand awareness, reach and of interest to current and potential customers.
I have my own portable recording kit (see below) ideal for recording up to 5 people at locations in quiet spaces. being mobile, I can come to you – and with over 20 years in audio production for broadcast, you can expect a polished end production.
My home recording studio in Essex has a purpose built voice booth for recording broadcast quality links and narration – plus excellent audio for interviews with guests via Zoom, Riverside or other platforms connecting contributors in locations further afield.
The studio space is also suitable for recording 2-3 people in situ.
If you have pre-existing audio, I can also edit and master to produce a final product.
How many podcasts have I produced?
So far… Robin Ince’s Show & Tell, and Utter Shambles in the very early years of podcasting, then more recently Iceworld podcast for the British Antarctic Survey, the Principal Navigations podcast for Hakluyt, editing and production for the English Heritage podcast, audio mastering for The Big Steal, location interview recording for Greater Anglia’s Life on Rails and don’t forget the other audio – audio dramas, trails and documentaries for the BBC, Audible and independent producers…
I currently produce – and present! Hot Flashes: Menopause Monologues, which features two performed monologues written by Helena Jevons and introductory chats with her about each monologue.

What I do as Producer:
- Work with you to plan your podcast. For example the number of episodes, agreed durations, guests, scripting, recording sessions and locations.
- Provide and/or arrange the recording facilities and kit (4 x wired lav mics, 2 x wireless lav mics, Zoom H6, handheld MKH416, etc)
- Direct and record the interviews/conversations
- Advise on content – Editorial decisions, legalities, restrictions, language etc.
- Help with cover design and text to accompany your podcast
- Use of music: what you can and can’t use
- Full editing, mixing and mastering services
- Hosting – TBC, if required.
