What have I been up to this month?

From voiceovers to production and other antics, here’s what’s been happening in my studio and beyond:

Did someone say beer?

It’s not necessarily the huge international clients that make for exciting and interesting jobs; sometimes providing a voiceover for a  a local group is satisfying too. Nor least when their business is beer! As a CAMRA member, I’ve been a regular at Chelmsford’s Beer and Cider Festivals for several years, so when they asked if I would provide a mixture of Health and Safety and information announcements I was more than happy to say yes.

Fortunately I resisted the temptation to record variations such as “leave it mate, you’ve had enough!! Time to go home.”

I’ll be attending (of course) and while I’m used to hearing my own voice, I’m not used to hearing myself on a PA informing me and a thousand other attendees that it’s time at the bar. I’ll probably end up having a row with myself.

If you’re in the area, the Chelmsford Summer Beer & Cider Festival takes place from 4th – 8th July 2017.

I was pleased to be working with another new client this month: Barclaycard. I narrated an explainer video for their website describing how to use their Barclaycard Anywhere app. If you’re a customer, look out for it soon!

Poldark: Season 3

The third season of Poldark starts on BBC One next month and once again I’ve been working on the radio trails. No bespoke lines for Aidan Turner this time I’m afraid, but it does feature a great new track from the rock band Nothing But Thieves. Listen out for it on Radio 2, Radio 4 and local BBC stations. Having seen the first few episodes I can promise you it’s as good as ever and Demelza fans have a lot to look forward to…
